A lot of people like Jesus, not many people like the Church.
For a lot of us, the Church actually gets in the way of God.

Endless rules, traditions, formulas and dogmas end up replacing a living relationship with a living God. So for many of us to learn to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves, we have to lose our religion. Then we see everything in a different light.

This is a daily blog during the period of Lent (the 46 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday) by the pastors of Trinity Church (www.stltrinitychurch.com).
